Haggie Financial

It is amazing to think the business started in the era of IBM Golfball typewriters and carbon paper. A fax machine was a novelty (being a Yorkshireman I naturally refused to buy a telex). We had computers but no network or email and sent disks with RNS announcements to the Stock Exchange Couriers - hundreds of them sitting in rank leathers waiting for the magical envelopes; The Friday Night Drop. A very different world.

Now we've learnt to email, text, tweet and poke each other. The tools of communication have changed radically.

25 years seems an age and happily we look and feel younger than we are......I am immensely proud and feel very lucky to have worked with some fascinating clients, many of whom remain firm friends, and a great team which, by its nature, changes but which keeps several principles at its heart; Integrity, hard work, creativity and having fun, all key attributes of this business.

We've been celebrating by reflecting on times past and success achieved... Join us in a nostalgic review of those 80's highs and lows...

Where were you during the 86 World Cup in Mexico, the Poll Tax riots, when Charles and Diana got married and what was the name of your first mobile phone? When did you send your first email or spend your last pound note?

Remember Top Gun, the opening of the current Lloyd's building, Lovejoy and Magnum PI?
